CONCORDE PORTFOLIO & TICKETS & SOUVENIRS FROM A FLIGHT ON 8/9/1999, JFK TO LHR

Description

This one of a kind Concorde souvenir assortment was obtained from a British Airways Concorde flight from JFK to LHR on August 9th, 1999, celebrating our 25th year of marriage.  During most of the flight the speed indicator on the front bulkhead read 1,300 miles per hour.  As an old airline pilot I was invited to sit in the cockpit for the descent, approach, and landing at Heathrow---which I did, leaving my loving wife by herself---with our complementary bottle of champagne!  We were each given a portfolio containing Concorde writing paper, 2 envelopes, an oval baggage tag, a pen, a note pad, two large postcards, and a small booklet about the Concorde.  The booklet is 1/8 in. thick x 9 inches square, and the last photos in our group of photos are from the booklet.  The folio measures 12 1/2 in. x 9 1/4 in. x 3/4 in thick.  The pen is 5 1/2 in. long and 7/16 in. in diameter.  The oval , 2 part, baggage tag is 4 1/2 in. long x 1 1/2 in. wide with a black, plastic strap.  The postcards are in a single sheet, each measuring 4 1/2 in. x 8 1/2 inches.  This collection also contains our tickets and associated written communications from British Airways.
