The artistic expression of 1920s Berlin interpreted into classic Tarot imagery.
You think things are crazy now?
You should have been around 100 Years ago in the nineteen twenties! It was even wilder.
And the epicentre of it all was the magnificent metropolis, the shining city of Berlin.
Okay, maybe "shining" isn't the right word. Depends on what you were into!
If it was art, dance, night-life, and generally living free from provincial constraints to live your life as you wished, then Berlin was the place to be.
From 1919 to 1933 Germany's Weimar Republic was a magical bridge in time.
All of the arts flourished. Nightclubs weren't only for cutting loose (although that aspect was epic). They were the places where you could see the city's modern and most innovative talent performing their hearts out on dozens of stages every night of the week. Anita Berber, Mary Wigman, Harald Kreutzberg, Sebastian Droste, Claire Waldoff and so many others were making indelible marks on society from smokey cabarets and majestic ballrooms. The Cult of Weimar Tarot celebrates the artistic expression of the Weimar time and interprets it into classic Tarot imagery to create a bridge between eras, between then and now, to use as a guide as we navigate our modern lives.
