DESIGNER PINK & WHITE STRAW PICTURE HAT, Barbara Lee, Vintage 1961

Description

This elegant, wide-brimmed vintage picture hat by BARBARA LEE, is a froth of pastel pink and white braided straw - an ice cream confection from the late 1960s.     This pristine, like-new chapeau will take you from a summer wedding to garden party to church with style and panache...... All the while adding  peek-a-boo charm to any complexion, any hair color.    So pretty in pink!
The hat is a full 17 inches wide, with a 4 1/2 inch crown completely lined in pristine white taffeta, and a deep 5 1/2 inch brim all around,  finished with a braided straw cord band and loopy bow.   The brim is a challenging unique design:  the top is pink and underside is white, all made of the heavily woven straw, with no stitching visible, merely double woven straw (see photos).   The hat measures 21 inches;  will fit most ladies and is pristine,  clean and in unused condition.    The pink is a baby pink; white is bright, with no yellowing.
Label reads:   Barbara Lee/an AMC Fashion.   It's American-made.  The picture hat comes with its original, round, gold and white striped huge hatbox with gold cord handles.
