Very Nice 1 Quart "East Side Jersey Dairy" "Selected Best-Ever Dairy Products" Milk Bottle,
Circa 1940's (best guess), Lots of Embossed Glass Reads: ONE QUART LIQUID L-52 SEALED-REGISTERED PROPERTY OF EASTSIDE JERSEY DAIRY CO ANDERSON. IND (from the best we can make out.)  We think it has the Owens-Illinois Glass mark on bottom as well.
Very nice collectible bottle with only moderate wear.  Please look over all the pictures taken for your consideration and use zoom feature if needed as they are a better indicator of condition.  We did not notice any major detractors from item's appeal just a few scuffs from age to glass surface. It has a vintage (but mismatched lid or cardboard cap) "Houseknecht's Dairy" with old phone number and other print.
The "East Side Jersey Dairy" was located in Anderson Indiana and had played a major role in that city and the Midwest U.S. for many decades starting in the early 20th Century.  It literally started with a single brown Jersey fawn cow owned by Edgar Clifford and Ruffina Hardacre that launched a single family business and another classic American tale of hard work paying off, even for the little guy (and gal of course).  They were early pioneers in the pasteurization process in the Midwest and continued to grow.  The "Best -Ever" handle was incorporate later on and the company eventually merged with Prairie Farms (1987).  We are listing a "Best-Ever" metal bracket sign from same collector soon, it also came from Anderson Indiana.  Sometimes it is fun to read what is behind a label.  There is much more company history online.
