Planters Peanut Original Football Store Jar
This jar was manufactured in the USA in 1930 for Planters Peanuts. It is 9" tall with the lid on, 6 5/8" tall with the lid off. The jar is approximately 8" at its widest point.
The jar has "Planters Salted-Peanuts" embossed on the front and the back of the jar. Made in USA is embossed on the bottom. There are air bubbles and straw marks on the jar in accordance to glass making of the time. There are no ships or cracks on the jar.
The lid is about 7" wide. It has a beautiful peanut finial. "Planters" is embossed twice on the lid. The underneath inside of the rim has a chip that measures 1 5/8" in length. There is also a chip on the upper outside edge of the lid. I have shown both chips and
highlighted
them in the photos.
I have been collecting Planters Peanut jars for over thirty-five years. This has been in my personal collection that I display. We are downsizing and I am selling my collection.
